Where's Mosqoy this summer?

UPCOMING EVENTS

We admit, without a storefront (yet!) it can be a bit tricky to find us sometimes.

Want to know where to find us this summer? Here is a list of all the events that we will be attending in Canada, both as Mosqoy and Q'ente, selling fair-trade textiles, educating people about Quechua cultures and spreading the word about our work in Peru. Take advantage of the beautiful weather and come visit us at these fantastic events in Victoria & Vancouver.

At all of these events we’ll have a table set up displaying Q'ente's beautiful, fair-trade textiles handwoven by Quechua communities. We love to chat, so come say hi!

Fibrations

This community-based celebration of all things fibre - whether it be knitting, weaving, felting, crocheting, spinning - will feature artists sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for their craft through demonstrations, hands-on-activities and a market selling locally made fibre creations. Fibrations is organised by a group of Victoria artists who aim to showcase the exciting fibre arts being created locally while also inspiring others to give knitting, weaving, felting, crocheting, spinning and other fibre arts a go.

Check out their awesome lineup of demonstrations here, including willow basket weaving, needle felting and finger weaving! We’ll be there displaying textiles, and  showcasing our beautiful hand-spun, naturally died alpaca wool: perfect for fibre artists!

From 10a.m. to 4p.m.

Location: St Ann's Academy, 835 Humboldt Street, Victoria, BC (Map)

3rd Annual Latin American & Spanish Film Week

Earlier this Spring, we were approached by UVic Professor Dan Russek, who was interested in featuring Mosqoy in the Annual Latin American & Spanish Film Week put on by the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies at UVic. We jumped on the opportunity and we’ll be hosting one of the film screenings: we'll introduce a film created in Peru, and give a short talk before the film. The best part? All the proceeds from the screening will go to Mosqoy! Come watch some fantastic films, and support us at the same time. More details soon.

The event runs from Monday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Cinecenta theatre at University of Victoria.
